City of Sandpoint Outdoor Shooting Range

     The City of Sandpoint Outdoor Shooting Range is a 6 acre park located approximately 4 miles west of town on Baldy Mountain Road.  The range consists of 14 covered concrete shooting lanes with benches and stools, pole barn style structure used for weather protection, 12' x 12' secure storage / rangemaster facility, emergency telephone for communication with the City Police Department.   The outer boundaries of the range consist of dirt berms with a 6' chain link fences surrounding the entire complex.  Shooting distances offered to sportsmen are 25, 50,100, 150, and 200 yards.      

     The Range is part of the City park system as we recognize that the sport of shooting is important to our citizens, just as any other recreational program/facility.  The Sportsmen's Association was key in obtaining initial funding to construct the facility.  

     Operation of the Range is under the auspices of the City Parks & Recreation Department, Jason Wiley Recreation Supervisor.  Rangemasters are present during hours of operation. For directions , or hours of availability beginning April 15th thru Nov 11th see the currently posted range calendar.   The Range is open eight months of the year.  Currently, the fee for Range use is $5 per day, or $70 for a Non Sportsman Assoc. member season pass.  Season passes purchased with a Current Bonner County Sportsmen Assoc. card is $20. A Bonner County Sportsmen Association membership is $10 (family rates available) for more information or to purchase contact the Range.  (Individuals save $50 on the Range Season Pass by joining the Sportsmen Assoc.) The City provides shooters free access to quality eye and ear protection, a spotting scope, and targets for use.
